Giving Tuesday: A Day of Global Generosity

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a global movement that inspires giving and generosity around the world.

Every year on the Tuesday after Black Friday, individuals and nonprofits come together to rally around causes that are dear to their hearts. Through mass giving, donations, and volunteering, twenty-one million dollars was raised last Giving Tuesday in Canada alone!

This year, Giving Tuesday falls on Tuesday, December 1st.

Why is Giving Tuesday so important this year?

As we approach the holiday season, especially with effects of COVID-19 still so present in our day to day lives, it’s easy to forget about families and individuals that are relying on the generosity of others to get by.

Hot on the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the biggest consumer days of the year, Giving Tuesday comes as a much needed antidote to kick start the season of giving.

Nonprofits around the globe are creating endless and contactless opportunities to give and donate so that no one has to go without this year.

Give more with less this Giving Tuesday

For every donation made through Geenees on Giving Tuesday, we will be donating 10% to Pacific Immigrant Resource Society. This amazing nonprofit provides temporary accommodation in a safe and secure environment for women and their children who are experiencing violence or are at risk of violence.

On December 1st, you can give more with less.

So mark your calendars, and give with Geenees this Giving Tuesday.
